Good health starts with good nutrition, but Rebecca’s philosophy around food goes one step further.

You may have heard the saying ‘You are what you eat’, but Rebecca also believes ‘You are what you digest’. As a naturopath specialising in digestion and gut health, Rebecca firmly believes that optimal digestion is paramount to good health, energy and vitality. If your digestion is not working well, you won’t absorb nutrients and you don’t eliminate toxins effectively – two of the most basic principles of good health!

In her Sydney naturopathy practice, Rebecca works with clients to optimise their nutrition and digestive function to make sure they get the most out of their food. Keeping in line with her promise to keep things practical, Rebecca works with you to come up with simple dietary changes that fit in with your lifestyle.

What about supplements?

As with most things, there is a time and a place for supplements provided they are used in the right circumstances, at the right dose, for the right time frame, their effects are monitored and they don’t take the place of a healthy diet.

Rebecca often prescribes natural supplements like herbal medicine and nutrients alongside dietary recommendations, however they are used with a specific intention: to help get your body back into balance so that it can do what it needs to do. In some situations (perhaps your lifestyle choices, the load you are carrying through life at that moment or specific health concerns), you may need to take supplements for an extended period of time to get your body back to proper functioning.

For those people interested in optimising health and wellness, there is also some good quality evidence for some nutrients being taken every day to optimise energy, health, effective detoxification and wellness. Rebecca can discuss these with you in your consultation if this is something you are interested in.

Naturopathic and medical testing may be utilised to guide the length of time you will be taking supplements for.

Expand your Mind

If you don’t know that you don’t know something, you can end up living your life with tunnel vision and ‘putting up with things’ just because you don’t know any better.

Neale Donald Walsch said ‘Growth begins at the end of your comfort zone’. Everything that happens in our lives is an opportunity to learn and grow. Expanding your mind through a shift in the way we think can open up a whole world of possibilities that you never dreamed possible.

As a naturopath, Rebecca often educates her clients on the links between mind and body and body and mind. This cycle is one that is constantly shifting and inter-linked. As we learn more about ourselves and recognise why we do things the way we do, we are able to take our health and vitality to a whole new level.

Feed your Soul

Within each of us, there is that ‘thing’ that truly lights us up. It gives us a sense of purpose and fills us with joy, excitement, satisfaction and happiness. It may big or small, something you do regularly, something you have thought about but are yet to try or perhaps, it’s something you haven’t quite discovered. It could be a hobby, a passion, an art form or a project that you have been working on.

‘Soul food’ is different for everyone, but once you have found it, the outcome is always the same: it gives you that gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling and lets you know you’re in this world for a reason.
