Rebecca first experienced naturopathy at the tender age of 4 and it has been a huge part of her life ever since. Having suffered with excruciating eczema as a child, her mother went on the search for answers (that didn’t involve the use of steroid creams) and took her to see a naturopath.

When the time came to select a career path, Rebecca naturally gravitated towards health and while she flirted with the idea of being a doctor for a while, naturopathy stole her heart and she has never looked back! Rebecca graduated from Nature Care College in the top 3% of her class and began practicing as a naturopath at a multi-modality clinic in the Sydney CBD while she went on to complete her Health Science Degree in Complementary Medicine through Charles Sturt University.

Rebecca loves being a naturopath and she has a passion for creating and working in a more inclusive primary healthcare system. Her dream for naturopathy and holistic health care is to see it become embedded in the way that we do things in healthcare today. It was this desire for change that saw Rebecca complete her Masters In Public Health, at the University of New South Wales. She has recently commenced study towards a PhD that combines her clinical experience with public health and nutrition. Her research will investigate how caring for a loved one with cancer influences dietary behaviours within the carer.

As a naturopath, Rebecca is often found scouting through journals and databases for the latest research she can convert into ‘real life’ solutions for her patients. It was this love of learning and getting lost in the details that saw Rebecca add lecturing to her career mix. In addition to being a busy naturopath in Sydney, Rebecca teaches nutritional medicine, naturopathy and herbal medicine at Endeavour College of Natural Health (Sydney Campus). She is passionate about teaching students how to combine traditional naturopathic philosophy with the latest evidence-based medicine to help make a difference to their patients.

When she isn’t practicing, studying or teaching, Rebecca enjoys running (she is currently training for a marathon), spending time with her friends and family, relaxing at the beach or creating new recipes in the kitchen! Rebecca strongly believes that you are only as happy as the people you surround yourself with so regularly makes an effort to give back to her community. She has been a play-therapy volunteer at the Sydney Children’s Hospital (Randwick), coached junior and senior netball teams both at the grass-root and state level, teaches swimming to children in summer and is currently working on a health promotion program that will target optimising the health of carers using naturopathic medicine – stay tuned for details!
